Can The New York Knicks, Bring Knicks Fans, Their First Finals Victory At The Garden, Since 1973?
The New York Knicks winning the fourth game of the NBA finals is an absolute must for one overwhelming reason, the fans.
New York Knicks fans, deserve to experience an NBA finals win at Madison Square Garden. It is bad enough that the last time the Knicks won it all was in 1973.
Furthermore, the fact that the Knicks first loss in the playoffs, came at the Garden, is a particularly tough pill for New York Knicks fans to have to swallow.
Three games in, it is clear that both of these teams match up really well with each other. With neither team thus far being capable of blowing out the other.
It’s Time For Towns, To Start Closing.
Thus far, KAT has scored zero points in any of the 4th quarters, in the NBA finals. However, if there is a clear ray of hope in all of this, it is Karl Anthony-Towns. Someone, who more than most, understands the importance of this NBA finals, for New York Knicks fans. Arguably, it is more likely that Karl Anthony-Towns bounces back and helps lead the Knicks to victory.
Than it is that the Spurs duplicate game 3’s performance, against the Knicks again in game 4. Furthermore, as a bare minimum, Karl has to make sure that he tries to impact the game in every way possible.
Until game 3, KAT was dominant on the glass, grabbing 12 rebounds in game 1, 13 rebounds in game 2 versus just 8 in game 3.
With all three games being as close as they have. It actually gives the Knicks players added motivation to lock in and focus on every aspect of the game. As every, single, play counts.
If KAT and the rest of the Knicks can resist the temptation to listen to outsiders and instead, trust themselves and each other. They will be NBA champions.
Karl has arguably lost too much off the court, to allow the Knicks to lose at home in game 4. Until, game 3, he was in the Finals MVP conversation and that, was no accident. Moreover, this team is a real team, with real chemistry.
A great motivating factor for the New York Knicks, is each other. Between the players, the film and the coaching staff. The Knicks will be able to figure out where they went wrong in game 3. Furthermore, they also have all the motivation in the world, to do something about it in Game 4.
Crucially, the Knicks are still favorites to win game 4 tonight.
Which, promises to be an interesting sporting event to say the least. All of the players, have dreamt about moments like these. Putting it all on the line, for the NBA championship.
Hopefully though, that dream will mean more to the Knicks players playing at Madison Square Garden tonight. Than it does to the Spurs players, playing away, at New York.
