The New San Diego Padres Owners Are Relationship Goals.

Kwanza Jones and Jose E Feliciano are definitely relationship goals. The power couple recently made MLB History by becoming the first Latino (Jose is Puerto Rican) and Black people, to own a majority stake, in an MLB team.

Admittedly, both Kwanza and Jose have outlier, written all of them. With the couple having first met as undergrads at Princeton University.

A Relationship Of Outliers.

They both have outstanding resume’s with Jose going on to get an MBA from Stanford and eventually becoming a Billionaire investor. Meanwhile, Kwanza has seen success as a recording artist, as well as in the fields of law, media, and entrepreneurship.

The power couple have, with their historic MLB ownership, made headlines, history and gotten the attention of people, worldwide. However, what really makes their story special is that the power couple are making waves together.

The irony of living in a capitalistic world is that we all tend to prioritize making money. Sometimes, to the detriment of our families and those close to us.

Jose and Kwanza making history together is a reminder of the fact that there is no need for us to choose or settle. It is possible for us to have it all – a non toxic relationship – with someone we love and do business with.

In 2026, we live in a world, that can often feel lonely. However, perhaps now more than ever, our love lives can help us both defeat loneliness whilst we also plot our way, towards prosperity.

To be sure, Jose without Kwanza likely still becomes a billionaire investor, capable of buying the Padres. However, it’s hard to think of a more important relationship to a man, than that of his wife. Moreover, it is also hard to think of a better source of motivation for a man, than his wife.

Kwanza likely puts Jose’s Billionaire wealth in perspective, and gives it all meaning. Similarly, Jose likely provides Kwanza with all of these positive things too (motivation, meaning, fulfillment, etc, etc.)

Outlier Lessons.

So, what can we learn from Jose and Kwanza? The obvious lesson, is the importance of education. The power couple, first met at Princeton and the intelligence of both of them, is woven through the very fabric of their resume’s.

Even the couple’s philanthropy, also underlies the importance of education.

Moreover, another lesson to be learned is that good things happen, when you chase your dreams. More specifically, a University education is a great place to meet people and foster high quality relationships.

It’s great to have dreams and pursue them. However, more than this, it’s great to frequent places, frequented by people, with aspirations of greatness. Whether, it’s the gym, an educational institution, the library, the park, the beach, etc, etc.

Good things happen when we pursue our dreams. However, good things also happen when we frequent, places full of positivity.

Relationship Goals Are What We Make Them.

Admittedly, Jose and Kwanza are outliers. It would be wrong to represent what they have as being possible for everybody else.

Nevertheless, it would also similarly be wrong to misconstrue what they have, as being impossible to everyone else. The truth is, our loves lives are what we make them.

We all have the power to make financial literacy and/or stability a prerequisite for being in a relationship with us.

Furthermore, as mentioned in a previous article. Being in a positive relationship is supposed to benefit every aspect of our lives (including financially).

Potentially, bills get split in half and medium to long term goals, like home ownership and even business ownership, can more readily be reached.

Life and relationships, come with risk. None of us has a crystal ball. We’ve all opened ourselves up to somebody disingenuous, that ended up burning our fingers.

Again, this happens to more or less everybody. We all take losses, despite appearances. Nevertheless, two things can be true. Just because we know firsthand that relationships fail.

Is no reason for us to be ignorant of the fact that relationships can also be the motivation, means and reason why we win.

The intimacy, trust and shared survival (interdependence) that comes from being in a serious relationship. Makes a life partner, potentially a great business partner.

Married or otherwise, there is a business aspect to love that we would all do well to be aware of. When you find true love, you find a best friend, a life partner and potentially, a business partner that you can build an empire with too.
