Megan Thee Stallion & Klay Thompson have apparently broken up due to Klay Thompson cheating.
At least that is what the general public have been told by, Megan Thee Stallion via her instagram post:
Saturday, April 25, writing, “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’”
“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????” she wrote. “I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall”
Klay Thompson, for his part has characteristically been silent. Declining to publicly respond to Megan Thee Stallion’s claims. Which, leaves us forming an opinion based solely on what we’ve heard from Megan.
Klay Thompson & Megan Thee Stallion’s Break Up, Contains Some Lessons In Love.
The reason for this article is twofold. To use the opportunity of a popular topic, to express what should have ideally happened. As previously mentioned in a different article, dating and love is basically an extreme sport these days.
However, discussing dating and love though, should hopefully make this “extreme sport”, less challenging. Moreover, with Klay Thompson having Bahamian roots, the break up is even more relevant to this (Caribbean) platform.
In a formal statement to People, she [Megan Thee Stallion] said, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” Megan wrote. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
For the sake of this article, we’ll assume Megan Thee Stallion is accurate in identifying Klay Thompson as having fidelity issues.
Klay’s First Taste Of Controversy.
The main mistake on Klay Thompson’s part would be transparency. Klay Thompson is an NBA champion several times over. A definite, first ballot hall of famer and widely held to be the second best shooter of all time.
He was a part of one of the greatest basketball teams in NBA history. A two-way player, that even got the rare co-sign from Kobe Bryant.
Klay Thompson clearly takes the game of basketball seriously. Moreover, for elite NBA players like Kobe Bryant and Klay Thompson. The separation between the basketball player and the human being, never really happens.
Their basketball success effects how they are viewed as human beings i.e. as winners, as intentional, as embodying excellence.
Rightly or wrong, that was the perception, until now, of Klay Thompson. His name for the most part, has been associated mainly with excellence.
However, this is no longer the case.
All of this could have potentially been avoided if Klay was just transparent with Megan Thee Stallion. If finding being with one woman was challenging for the NBA Superstar. He should have let Megan Thee Stallion know that. Ideally, from the beginning.
Initially, the relationship looked like the diva, bad gyal or “hot girl” rapper. Was getting to date a good boy for once.
That good boy perception, is now gone, replaced with the “cheater” label. All of which could have been avoided if Klay Thompson was just honest about his apparent committment issues.
The main point, this article has to make is transparency, honesty and communication could have saved both Megan and Klay from a bad break up.
The ugliest part of all of this, is the fact that Megan Thee Stallion’s heart may have actually been hurt because of Klay’s apparent committment issues.
Transparency Would Have Kept Things Tidy Instead Of Messy.
If men find it challenging to be with only one woman. That needs to be communicated to the woman. Especially if that woman is falling in love and looking at you, as a potential husband.
The truth is, Klay could have just left Megan Thee Stallion alone altogether if he wanted to prioritise his sexuality. He’s a rich, handsome NBA champion, with access to women. Or at the very least, he could have let Megan know, that he had commitment issues.
One thing is very clear though, to date, this is Klay’s first time being a part of such a high profile couple. Maybe he is just guilty of maintaining the same behavior, with a different (more high profile) woman?
It’s possible that he just wanted some fun all along and never knew how to handle all of the media exposure that came with dating a girl as hot, as Megan Thee Stallion.
With their brand new relationship being less than a year old. In hindsight, it’s probably fair to say that both Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson, got ahead of themselves.
With Klay referring to Megan as his wife and Megan hinting at wanting to be Klay’s fiance.
Perhaps the seemingly introverted Klay, found the media attention and Megan’s apparently extroverted personality. Too much to handle?
Moreover, maybe Megan Thee Stallion is now the one doing the most?
If Klay Thompson cheated, then ultimately, he is the one that has caused all of this mess.
Also, Megan Thee Stallion’s experience with Tory Lanez could factor into all of this too. We all recall how Megan was reluctant to report what happened to the police. It’s possible that Megan is done being discreet about her relationships with men.
Maybe this is her way of hurting Klay, like he hurt her?
After all, we’ve even seen her break up described as the reason for her time at Moulin Rouge coming to an end when technically, it was her health that caused this.
Maybe her broken heart, is the cause of her health issues?
Furthermore, if Klay Thompson, has, apparently lost a woman that really loves him. Due to him prioritising casual fun with other women. The day may well come when he regrets this because, real love can be hard to find. Or, one can ask, if Megan loved Klay, would she publicly throw him under the bus like this?
Who knows??? All we can do is speculate and champion the fact that honesty, transparency, empathy and communication are essential to all healthy relationships, in the long run.
