Trinidad Carnival

So Trinidad Carnival 2026 is Full of uncertainty.

For Trinidad Carnival 2026, Every Reveller Must Give Their All.

As mentioned in a previous article, the basic reason for this is that the wider issues facing economy of Trinidad and Tobago. Have spilled over and started to effect Trinidad Carnival as we know it.

The first red flag or indicator of this, was different fetes being cancelled. Presumably due to poor sales. Which would indicate that the economic reality felt by Feters, has meant that they have scaled back from doing what they usually do.

Another clear indicator of this, was Soca Supertar and living legend, Patrice Roberts, doing a free fete. Patrice specifically stated that the reason for doing this is her knowing that many people are struggling financially right now.

In addition to all this, there is some sort of new government tax, apparently on Rum, which has caused both Jouvert Band prices and Mas Band prices to be raised.

All of the above is way too much change for any reveller familiar with how Trinidad Carnival usually is. This Trinidad 2026 Carnival season, feels like every single Feter and Reveller will have to bring their absolute A Game for Carnival to be a W this year.

Embracing The Change And Uncertainty.

To date, Trinidad Carnival has never ever shot a shot and missed. Every single real reveller will be motivated to keep things that way. Usually, Carnival is that one time of year that Revellers can count on to wash all of their worries away.

Us Revellers are unaccustomed to Carnival, being one of the things that we worry about. So, there you have it, in 2026, Trinidad Carnival has some uncertainty wrapped around it. So, what do we go and do, we add to the uncertainty of course!!!!

We add to the uncertainty by playing with a brand new Mas and Jouvert Band. It kind of just felt like with all the uncertainty around, we might as well just embrace the uncertainty!!!!

So again, we will be jumping with a brand new Mas and Jouvert Band. Now, to be honest, these bands have long been on our radar. Many a year beforehand, we’ve thought about playing with these bands. The Jouvert Band has been rumored to be one of the best and it just felt like time to try something new.

Expect Bigger, Better And More From Us.

The Mas Band is bigger than the band we usually play with and the cost is similar to what we’d be paying if we stayed with our old band. Now, Carnival, is one of the rare times where, we stop putting out content. The reason is simple, Carnival is for playing a mas. Working and using it for content creation, is a no no. As the late great Lord Kitcher would say: “No Wuk For Carnival“!!!!!!

Leading up to Carnival though, we will still be hitting up our favorite fetes and creating content to share with you all.

Moreover, there will be new surprises as we venture off into doing some things and creating content, that we never have before!!!!

We are definitely hoping that you all enjoy it all.
Hoping you all have a great 2026 and we are sending you all nothing but Island Love!!!!

Speaking of Island Love, the following video should prove to be valuable to every Trinbagonian and Soca fan. Enjoy.
