This tune is personal and captures the true essence of Carnival. Whilst some may have moral issues with Carnival and get triggered by the whole get on bad, perception of Carnival. The truth is, there is a therapeutic, positive and even community aspect of Carnival.
For two days, we get to stop rushing around, attempting to get things done and instead we get to spoil ourselves as Kerwin Du Bois once sang. We get to pour into ourselves, prioritize ourselves but also, we get to come together as one. As people that share a love of Soca, as Caribbean people, as Human Beings.
For all these reasons, Carnival time, is a moment to heal.
With the song Healing, Tish Official and Evolution The Band very beautifully capture this important blessing that Carnival imparts, to those that take part.
Nardo HD – Road Call.
Oh, no, Nardo HD didn’t just give us Steelpan and Brass in the same song!!!!!!! This is a super sweet Carnival Love Song where Nardo HD spreads his love, for Carnivals throughtout the region.
From T&T to the Sugar Mas of his native St. Kitts and Nevis. That inclusiveness is a key aspect of what makes Carnival special. Yes, Carnival is how Caribbean find joy but it is inclusive!!!! It is about coming together, unity and during this special time, we could care less about negativity or that which is divisive.
This, is what Nardo HD’s Road Call speaks to. This song embodies, Island Love.
Kimi Has A Brand New Soca Song Out Called: Action.
This is prototypical, Groovy Soca. What stands out about this song is the way the opening line: ” Darling you’re too sweet like a spoon of pure honey” so aptly captures how Soca people feel about this song.
The tune is Groovy but sweetness is one of the main feelings this song gives the listener. This tune is ting to make you throw your hands in the air, as you simultaneously, let go of all your cares and worries.
This tune transports Soca people to Soca Euphoria. Assigment very well understood by Kimi.
Bunji Garlin x XplicitMevon – Still A Road Man
Is a celebration of the freedom and euphoria that comes from playing mas on the road. XplicitMevon deserves to have his name right next to Bunji Garlin because the beat that Xplicit produced, is super sophisticated.
Varying the vibes that Bunji Garlin’s vocals perform over. Which makes this tune hard to get tired of. Given the title of this song and Bunji Garlin’s track record, this tune obviously is a natural threat to take Road March this year. Epic things from Bunji Garlin and XplicitMevon!!!!

You know, real legends are forever and that is exactly what Shurwayne Winchester is reminding us of with this song. Shurwayne Winchester is timeless.
Whoever produced this riddim did an amazing job, because the beat is nuanced, filled with a variety of different elements and is simply flawless. Somewhat like Bunji Garlin and XplicitMevon’s Still A Road Man. Producer and Artist combine here to put forward an exceptional piece of work where both parties shine, big time!!!!
Tony Prescott x Noble Touch – Woman
Tony Prescott Is another Soca artist that is displaying their staying power in 2025. In this song Tony pays homage to the women of Carnival that help ensure that Carnival in Trinidad remains, the greatest show on Earth.
The song has a great pace, is well produced and has the perfect amount of variation in it to ensure that boredom is kept at bay!!!!

This is the music we love Nailah Blackman for. Music that pays homage to Soca or Sokah Music and the entire Trinbagonian culture that surrounds this music. Steelpan, Moko Jumbies, Carnival, inclusivity, tolerance and heritage.
The video shows off so much of the beauty of Trinbagonian culture. As we’ve recently written, the value of doing this is paramount because self love, self esteem and national identity are must-haves for any healthy society. Absolutely key, for the future of Trinidad and Tobago.
Jimmy October x Brooklyn Descent – Rockin
This sound is different as per usual, for Jimmy October. This song is groovy, happy and feel good. Which ticks the boxes of what music is supposed to do for its listener.
But instead of us trying to capture what this song has inside of it and possibly failing. We’ve embedded the video into this article. So all you need to do is press play and hear/feel the vibes for yourself.
Kranium – Love The Way Featuring Yung Bredda & Lejuh.
Okay, okay, yes this is supposed to be a new Soca list and Kranium is a Dancehall artist but…it does feature Yung Bredda and Lejuh. Furthermore, whilst the riddim is mainly a Bouyon one (and Dominicans reject the notion that Bouyon is Soca).
The truth is, the lines between different genres are often blurred. This tune, is one of those times. The bottom line is, the tune is fire, Soca people will likely appreciate it and lastly, the song is way closer to Soca than Dancehall. Therefore, we’re including this song here.
Rudy Live x PNDRN – Tek This Waist
Is some more uptempo Bouyon type vibes. Way more uptempo than Groovy. The energy and lyrics of this song is for the bacchanalists out there. For people that love action and want something uptempo to get on bad too. Also, it’s nice to hear some USVI Soca vibes getting represented!!!!
Kes & Tano Rum & Coca Cola
Now, if title’s were anything to go by, you’d already say that this song was going to be a hit!!!!! How so? Well, you see those approximately seven words above that make up the title? Well, let’s just say every last one of those words, has a history of success behind it.
Kes and Tano have already proven themselves to be a winning, hit-making combo. After all they have tunes like: Tack Back, Miracle, Medicine, Last Drum, Cocoa Tea, Jub Jub and now, now, we have Rum and Coca Cola!!!!
If the truth is to be told, Kes and Tano might just be the baddest one two punch in Soca since Bunji Garlin & Fay Ann Lyons.
Putting all of that to one side there is also the history of the song title Rum and Coca-Cola which is a Hit that goes all the way back to World War Two Times!!!!
Again, putting all of these precedents to one side. The point blank truth is, Kes and Tano have one of the best Soca tunes out with Rum and Coca-Cola.
This is up there with the best work Kes has ever done. If you are Team Soca, Rum & Cola simply has to be in your collection. This is the kind of Soca that Soca people live for!!!!
There’s A Sub Genre Of Soca For Everybody.
Major Lazer GOAT Featuring America Foster & Bunji Garlin
This tune is what happens when the infamous Major Lazer takes his talents and dabbles them in Bouyon Music. Despite whatever flowers Bouyon Music receives or is denied. The genre is undoubtedly ones of the most unique and powerful genres on Earth.
Seeing what Major Lazer, alongside America Foster and Bunji Garlin, did with this tune is priceless. All we need now is for capable DJ’s to fire this one in the right fete, at the right time, for us all to make a memory that lasts a life time.
Fay Ann Lyons Dutty Friends And Dem
Is a really fun, bad, Soca song where Fay Ann Lyons is bad talking, but low key shouting out, her friends. Reason being, In Soca, especially at Carnival time, bad behaviour, is exemplary behaviour!!!!
In fact, some of us may well hear our name call in the song, figuratively speaking. As Fay Ann Lyons calls out her friends for being up in every fete, behaving wassy and reckless. Shoutout to Fay Ann and her dutty friends and them!!!!
Skinny Fabulous x Travis World x Suh Raw – Can You Bend?
The video might be the best Soca video out right now. That is because Royal G stars in the video and Skinny Fabulous lets her show some of the array of moves, skills and flexibility, that she has in her repertoire.
Royal G might be the baddest Soca dancer on the Planet!!!! If not, she is definitely up there (top five).
Dem Guyanese Boys – Ride
This is a really fun, Groovy Soca where the emphasis is on giving women a song that they can have fun and show off their whining skills too. With this one Guyana officially joins the chat. The fact that it is a whole crew singing on this track helps to ensure there is a healthy amount of variation in this track.
LucratiV Carnival Day
This track has a classic feel to it (in the hook). However, when LucratiV spits the verses, his fresh style shines.
The concept of the song is that every Reveller actually has an extra two days of birthday celebrations every year (i.e. Carnival). There is a lot of truth to this song because there in no turning down for Carnival for any real reveller. Instead, we does all show up and turn up, non stop!!!!!!!!!
Rum Ah Day Ravi B x Lyrikal x Millbeatz
A Soca Playlist is incomplete without a rum song. Thank goodness for Ravi B, Lyrikal and Millbeatz. Rum Ah Day, is a feel good Rum song that gives us all a shot of good vibes. The tune is motivation to bust a move and look at the bright side (right side) of life.
