Why Being Present Is The Key To More Wins

Why Being Present Is The Key To More Wins

What now – Life’s Greatest Question?

Right now, in the present, everybody is simultaneously winning and losing.

The only difference is that some of us are aware of this fact and consciously make the decision to focus on what we can do presently, to get more wins.

At any given moment in time, losses and gains are happening. Which means we are perpetually at a fork in the road. That is, presented with an opportunity to go left or right. To focus on loss or growth – thereby creating even more, or growth, because eventually – we get more of what we focus on. (As expertly explained by Rhonda Byrne in her exceptional book, The Secret).

One of the great questions that the Universe is asking is whether we want to be burdened by our past or empowered by it.

Pick A Side.

Furthermore, arguably, we all can only (through our choice of focus) be present in the past or the present. When it is all said and done the past is a place for us to learn lessons from, so that we can subsequently live better in the present. No one can be in two places at once. The past is a place for us to temporarily be (reflect), whilst we take stock of how we have fallen short. After that, the present is where we should be (most of the time). For the present, is the only place that we can capitalize on opportunities.

Every 24 hours, we are faced with more opportunity than we even are able to take advantage of. Thankfully though, we all have an opportunity to spend every 24 hours getting our most important goals completed.

Just like a fake friend, the familiarity of our past can be dangerous. Causing us to spend too much time (on either really good or bad memories) whilst the opportunities of the present – are wasted. A critical step we all have to take when it comes to our past is letting go. Whether our past memories were really good or really bad – in both cases – we have to let go. In order for us to be free of the past and free to create our future. This is the balancing act, the juggling of what it means to be adulting properly. That is, reflecting and learning from the past, whilst using the gift of the present to create our ideal or best lives.

Correctly appreciating the roles that the past, present and future should have in our lives. Enables us to respond to life’s challenges in a way that is healthy, fulfilling and nourishes our own growth.

What’s New?

Growth though, is to a certain extent all about the new. More specifically, growth is all about spending the present on achieving new goals. As time goes on, we all need new challenges and goals to spend our time on. Few games are so fun that they are beyond boredom. Eventually, almost every game gets old and the constant challenges that life throws at us, are actually blessings in disguise. As these blessings ensure that newness, growth, diversity, challenges etc etc, are a permanent feature of our lives too.

As the old saying goes, the cup is either half full or half empty. However, even the empty side of the cup is arguably a blessing that gives us something to do. Arguably, the empty side of the cup is actually – room for growth. That room is life or the Universe handing the ball over to us, for us to make a play and create whatever we should choose to.

Count Your Blessings Properly.

Instead of crying about what is missing. We all should be thankful for the opportunities present in our lives that we can use to create our desired outcomes. Oftentimes, our best blessings our so close (right under our noses) that we are unable to see them for what they are (or at all).

Dissatisfaction is a great call to action that often ends up with us going from a place of motivation, to action, to us achieving our desired end.
Learn from the past and know that a good or bad day is just part of the process, of you creating your desired future, in the present.

The past is where old blessings live. Future blessings presently, are non existent. We all can cash in best Karma wise by paying full attention to the present. Right now there are gifts in the present, that you can nurture to become even bigger blessings in the future. However, that process has to start right now.
