Why We Should All Aim To Be Actively Free.
Having freedom is cool but all of it means nothing without you being actively free.
However, you may find yourself asking: what does that even mean?
Well, the truth is we can have a million and one freedoms however, those freedom count for nothing if we never ever exercise any of those freedoms. In other words, freedom only gets cashed in when we put them into use. Therefore, those of us who are most free, are only those who most actively exercise their freedoms. This is what it means to be actively free.
It All Starts From Within

In a recent article, we looked at just how important it is to run your race in this game, that we call life. As mentioned in that article, the main person that has the power to run your race is you. However, the real battle that has to be won before any race can, is an internal one.
As Marcus Garvey and Bob Marley are famous for saying, it really is of the utmost importance that we all emancipate ourselves first. Before we are able to be in position to do the most and be as free as we can possibly be.
It is true that part of being free, is being able to press pause, slow down and rest whenever one wants to. However, more important than that, is our freedom to do (within reason) whatever we want to, after, we’ve had our approximate eight hours of rest.
After we’ve gotten the rest that we need. We may find that we need to shadow box ourselves into action. Away from our comfort zones, away from being held captive by our habits, routines and schedules. For, the only way to get new blessings, is to do new things.
Realising the concept of being actively free and its importance, is the first step towards making sure that we all are, as free as can be. After that, it really is important that we allow this concept to color our goals, dreams and the vision that we have for what our lives will be. After this, the next (final) step is committing to embodying this principle in our lives on a daily basis.
Consistent Activity

Perfection, freedom, happiness, love, basically anything worthwhile at all, is attained by consistent action. None of the above is a destination. Instead they are all a process that we commit to, through our decisions and actions, on a daily basis.
Being honest and humble enough to realise that our work is never done, is an important realistion to reach. No matter who we are or what we have achieved, more can always be done.
Resting on our laurels is a no no and the main person we have to convince of all this, is ourselves.
Haters get mad when they see others do what, deep down inside, they know they should be doing too (taking action, trying). However, whether they realise it or not, the real culprit and enemy, is themselves.
The moment we commit to trying and taking action. Is the moment we start to be free. Free of our own minds and wondering what will be, because we’ve moved from the realm of thought and analysis, into that of action.
You Miss One Hundred Percent Of The Shots You Never Take.
It is true, in order for you to run your numbers up. You will probably have to shoot your shot a million and one times. Having the will and desire to shoot that many shots is your pathway to being free. As the saying goes, you miss one hundred percent of the shots that you decide against taking. Arguably, being free is never being the type of person that blocks their own shot by stopping themselves from shooting.
Self evaluation and awareness is an important of maximising how free you are. That way, you will be able to see where you are falling short and can improve. You’ll know if what you are currently doing, matches your goals and where you ultimately want to be.
Just like in a race, time is of the essence and in a way, even freedom is by no means free. As again, you only you get to cash in on it by first paying the price of exercising it.
Arguably freedom is less about liberty, i.e. freedom on paper, than it is about being actively free. That is freedom indeed, as evidenced by one’s activities.
